Indian Institute of Aeronautics (IIA) is a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved Aircraft Maintenance Training Organization (MTO) having approval number EASA.147.0127 and provides Basic training in Category B1.1 (Aeroplane fitted with Turbine Engine) as per the requirements and standards stipulated in Part - 66.

IIA offers full basic training program according to EASA Part 66 for Aircraft Maintenance License training for Category B1.1. All courses are in line with the international quality and procedural standards for the training of maintenance personnel.

After the 2 years Basic Training, IIA will arrange for another 2 years of actual maintenance experience (OJT) in Germany. Once the students have collected all the required tasks, they will assist in B1.1 license issuance by German NAA. Jobs are available to those who have successfully completed the basic training hours, passing of all module examinations and obtained the Cat B1.1 License at the end of 2 years of OJT.

  2. Trainees that don’t have any substantial previous technical qualification or experience.

  • Courses Offered

    EASA Part 66 for Aircraft Maintenance License training for Category B1.1.

  • Addon Courses

    Practical Training:

    The practical training elements are corresponding to module 7A & 11A to 17A. During these training, trainees visit respective workshops for the in-house task performance and maintenance facilities of MRO’s for actual maintenance experience.

  • Course Duration

    Approximately 2 years

    At the end of module training, written examinations are held for the eligible candidates and are conducted by IIA. The minimum passing marks are 75% as per EASA guidelines.

  • Course Fee

    USD32,250.00 - can be paid in 2 equal installments on yearly basis.

  • Requirements
    • Secondary education certificate
    • Basic knowledge of English language
    • Minimum age at the time of admission should be 15 years
  • Accomodation & Meals

    IIA will arrange student apartments upon enrollment. Accommodation and meals shall be paid by the students. Please contact us for more details.

  • Location

    Courses are conducted in our approved EASA Part 147 training facilities at New Delhi. Practical training is conducted at Part 145 facilities of Air India Engineering Services Ltd and Indamer Aviation.
